How to Use the NADO
-
1. Place the Base
Set the concrete base on top of the provided cork protective coaster to protect your surface and stabilize the unit.
-
2. Remove Screws from Glass Holster
Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the two screws from the glass panel holster.
-
3. Add Silicone Tabs to Glass Panel
Apply the small silicone tabs to each bottom corner of the glass, and around each screw hole.
To help them stick, dampen the tab and place the wet side on the glass. -
4. Secure Glass to Holster
Reinsert the screws and slowly tighten the glass panels into the holster.
Do not overtighten—glass may break under too much pressure. -
5. Add Fuel
Pour isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol directly into the center tin chamber of the concrete base.
NOTE: DO NOT ADD MORE FUEL TO THE TIN IF THERE IS ALREADY A FIRE BURNING -
6. Ignite the Flame
Use a long grill lighter to safely ignite the alcohol in the center tin.
-
7. Create the NADO Effect
Place the glass panel holster with the mounted glass panels onto the concrete base.
Once in place, the flame will rise and begin swirling—creating the iconic NADO effect. -
To Extinguish the Flame:
Never touch the glass, holster, or concrete base while hot!
To safely extinguish the flame, lower the provided NADO Flame Extinguisher over the flame until it is fully out.
Using Citronella or Scented Oil (Optional):
-
Peel back the provided wick.
-
Place the wick into the center tin chamber.
-
Add enough scented oil or citronella to cover the bottom of the wick, keeping the top exposed.
-
Light the wick using your grill lighter.
Note: Using glass panels while burning citronella is not recommended—dark smoke may stain the glass.
⚠️ Important Safety Disclaimer
The NADO is a mini tabletop fireplace that produces a real flame and must be used with care. Failure to follow safety guidelines may result in injury or damage.
While using the NADO:
1. Keep hands, hair, and clothing away from the flame at all times.
2. Never add fuel to a burning fire— ensure the flame is fully extinguished and the unit has cooled before refueling.
3. Do not touch any part of the NADO while in use or until it has had sufficient time to cool.
4. A minimum clearance of 18 inches (1.5 feet) should be maintained between the fireplace and any surrounding objects, walls, or surfaces to allow for safe heat dissipation.
5. The NADO must be kept away from any combustible or flammable materials, as they may ignite when exposed to heat. Do not move the fireplace while it is operating or still hot.
After use, allow at least two hours for the NADO to cool completely before disassembling or placing it into storage. Whether in use or not, avoid touching the edges of the glass panels, as they may be sharp. For long-term storage, we recommend keeping the original carton and packaging to protect the unit and its components.
